Baby, it’s not cold outside.

Some pretty awesome things have happened in the past month and a half:

-We wrote an awesome new song.

-We booked studio time at Bird Cloud in order to record that new song and a few others.

-We played a free show at Mangia on December 22nd, with our friends Carriage House. It was one of those shows where you’re more of a bar band, kind of tucked in the corner, and you’re expected to play for awhile. To make that happen we had to learn a few more covers. We unveiled that night our new cover of “Daft Punk is Playing at My House,” and that was awesome.

-The next night, December 23rd, we played what may be the most ridiculous show we have ever been a part of. Eleven Magazine is awesome and invited us to play at their Christmas Party. This was like no Christmas party I have seen before. Dubbed “HOLLERLUJAH,” the party took over an entire office building and featured 18 bands, art installations, and AN OPEN BAR. What kind of open party to the public offers a free bar? This one did, and it was crazy. All told the final attendance count was 929. We played to probably 80-100 people in packed upstairs room. I had three different people take video that night and I’m currently working on putting it together to make a nice live video of one of our songs, but it’s slow going, and it was all shot on iphones so it’s not perfect.

-We booked a show at Cicero’s March 8 with The Pass. They are good. Check it out: http://www.myspace.com/thepasstheband.

This is the first real press we have gotten (besides a few mentions in articles about The Indie Rock Ice Cream Show,) and it’s really nice. We are pretty excited about it.

So now our plans are to prepare for the studio time at the end of January and work more on our live set. Awhile back I was working really hard some video to be projected either onto a screen, or onto us at shows, but I kind of shelved it because I was never really happy with it and we needed to prepare in other ways for shows. Now with some more I decided to look back at it and I think I have a whole new approach/concept. Most of the previous video will probably be trashed, but I’m ok with it. I’m pretty excited to really get started again.

I’m going to try to post here more often. I’m getting better at Twitter, I think.
