Long Time No Blog
A lot has happened since I’ve last written. Our show at Cicero’s went well, though we could have played a lot better. The crowd was great though. We handed out about 60 or so CDs, and got to talk to a lot of really cool people. Also Cicero’s pizza is the best. We made new friends in the band Carriage House. We may be playing with them at Mangia in December, I’ll update about that when I can.
As I mentioned in the last blog Chris and I went around and left a ton of free CDs around Cherokee, and that actually lead to something awesome. We were contacted by Tara Pham of Eleven Magazine a week or two after leaving them. She had grabbed a CD from FOAM coffeehouse and really liked it. Fast forward a month or two and the Eleven Magazine 11/11/11 Cherokee Street Bash was going down. Tara recommended us and we were invited to play at FOAM as the last band playing that night. We went on at 10:20ish (after some technical difficulties, we have so much equipment now for three people,) and the crowd couldn’t have been better. After a noisy start everyone moved right up to the stage (a platform about a foot off the ground, so basically eye level), and really got into it. We played really well and feel it was our best show yet. We handed out more CDs and talked to more people. Good times.
Before all the Eleven Festival stuff went down we were working on new songs. We really want to get back into the studio soon and record some more tracks, eventually leading to a full length.
We have some CDs left over from the show so we are going to go around and leave
those where ever we can. We have stream lined the process, too, so we don’t have to spend hours every week spray painting a bunch of cardboard cases.
Here's a pretty shitty picture of those new covers!
Speaking of pictures, we are in the process of taking promotional pictures. You know the type. They’ll be released pretty soon. We got some pretty cool live shots too. A friend of ours who is crashing at my house is a photographer, so he’s been helping us out.
Our web admin, Glen Elkins (from here on our referred to as “The Gladmin”) wants to make some changes to the site, so we’ll see what happens with that.
That’s all I’ve got for now.
